The Builders’ Challenge is a recurring event in The Sandbox that rewards creators for developing fun, high-quality, and engaging experiences. It is designed to encourage innovation, replayability, and organic player engagement.

The Builders’ Challenge runs for 4 weeks, ensuring fresh, exciting opportunities. After each event, we gather feedback to continuously improve and adapt to the needs of our creator community.

Rewards are typically distributed 2-3 weeks after the event ends, allowing time for data review and fraud detection.

Yes, you can publish multiple experiences which will each be evaluated independently.

Yes, we allow and encourage collaborations. However, only the account that publishes the experience will receive rewards. Ensure you have an agreement with your team on how to split earnings!

Yes, creators may collaborate with guilds, but they are responsible for ensuring all engagement remains organic and fair. Guilds should focus on genuine community-building, events, and tournaments. If engagement appears manipulated (e.g., idle players, mass logins, playtime farming), The Sandbox may remove the engagement or take further action.

Rewards are based on player engagement metrics, including factors like player visits and play time.

There is no fixed prize pool; rewards scale dynamically based on real player engagement.

Each experience can earn up to 50,000 SAND. This cap is only enforced on individual experiences and does not influence the earning potential of creators who may have multiple experiences live during the event.

Fair Play & Anti-Cheat

Any attempt to artificially inflate engagement is considered cheating. This includes:

  • Using bots or fake accounts to boost visits.

  • Paying for fake engagement services.

  • Exploiting bugs or loopholes to increase playtime or visits.

The Sandbox has a strict anti-cheat policy, and any suspicious activity will be reviewed. Consequences include warnings, disqualification, or permanent bans, depending on the severity. See Rules & Eligibility for details.

If you suspect cheating or experience a malicious bot attack on your experience, you can report it using the Cheating & Exploit Report Form. Please provide evidence such as screenshots, videos, or other forms of documentation and evidence.

Yes, we generally require you to use the latest available version of the Game Maker. This version will be specified when we announce each individual Builders’ Challenge.
