## What is Game Maker?

Game Maker is The Sandbox Game's **drag and drop** design program with **plug and play logic** used to create **Experiences, or games**.

**Experiences** can be:

* **Shared for free** in the community Gallery, including Game Jam contest submissions. You can also make a free [**Experience Page**](https://docs.sandbox.game/en/creator/game-maker/publish-experiences/experience-manager/experience-page) even if you don't own LAND.
* **Launched for play in the metaverse Game Client and monetized** if you own virtual LAND using [**Experience Publishing**](https://docs.sandbox.game/en/creator/game-maker/publish-experiences) tools.

**Game Maker** is **free to use** for personal, educational, and commercial projects. It consists of a creative space to build Experiences, templates to learn or build your projects faster, resource links to grow as a creator, and a gallery to explore community creations, including competitive entries from Game Jams.

With this **no-code software**, you can use blocks and assets [**created in VoxEdit**](https://docs.sandbox.game/en/creator/voxedit/create-assets) to populate your world, create quests to guide players, and design custom interactive logic for simple or complex gameplay.&#x20;

1. ​On [**The Sandbox website**](https://www.sandbox.game/en/), click "Create" in the left menu.
2. Click "Start Building" to download The Sandbox Launcher.

### Install Game Maker

1. Open the downloaded file to install the Launcher.
2. Once the Launcher is installed, it will download and install the latest version of Game Maker.

### Login to Game Maker

When you click "Log In" from the Launcher, you'll be taken to The Sandbox website to enter your username and secure password. Then you'll be prompted to load the Launcher and you'll be ready to go!
