What are Game Jams?
Game Jams are a form of contest on The Sandbox which encourages game designers, whether they are new to the space or experiences, to work either independently or as a team to design unique, fun and engaging user-generated games, using The Sandbox's creation tools (VoxEdit and Game Maker).
The Sandbox, working with its partners, set a theme for each Game Jam which the participants will need to follow and design a gaming experience around.
For example, if we were to partner with British composer/playwright Andrew Lloyd Webber, we might possibly organise a game creation contest around the theme of Cats, which means participants entering the Game Jam must have some elements related to the furry feline friends in their game entry.
After a set deadline, the Game Jam entries will be judged by a panel composing of The Sandbox team members and staff from our partner co-hosting the contest with us, to determine the top entries and who should win a prize of $SAND cryptocurrency.
