When you're ready to publish an Experience, you select which available LANDs will host it. You do not need to link the LANDs together to publish, simply select ones that are located together.
Contact The Sandbox team about creating a larger Estate with your LAND holdings.
See Manage Wallet for instructions to add SAND and LAND tokens to your wallet.
LANDs which are closer to major partners or social hubs will likely get higher traffic from gamers, which can potentially mean more income through monetisation. These highly-sought LANDs are marked as Premium LANDs on the map and are often bundled with assets related to the partner.
You can purchase LAND in official The Sandbox Public LAND Sales, which are held at The Sandbox website. The dates of these sales are announced in advance to allow you time to prepare.
Alternatively, LAND can be purchased second-hand on some third-party NFT exchanges, such as OpenSea and Rarible. Bear in mind these will generally be more expensive than LAND in official sales.
All users can buy LAND without needing to sign up for a raffle. We’ve improved our LAND and it’s now open to everyone.
LAND sales will now operate on a first-come, first-served basis, meaning you can purchase available LAND as soon as a LAND sale begins.
There’s no limit on how much LAND you can buy if there’s enough supply left. You can buy all the LAND your project requires, one at a time, by repeating the purchase process.
Choose between buying a random Standard or Premium LAND, sign the transaction and after a few minutes, your brand new LAND will be available in your wallet and the map will update.
To join the LAND Sale you need to meet the following requirements:
Account must be verified (KYC)
Your account is not banned
Banned accounts: Users who are flagged for suspicious/fraudulent activity, such as bots detected on Season 2 and 3.
From November 2022, official LAND Sales will take place on Polygon to reduce gas fees. Previously, they were on Ethereum.
LANDs are minted up-front before the sale. This means that LAND can quickly be randomly assigned to raffle winners to purchase when the raffle ends.ANDs are minted up-front before the sale. This means that LAND can quickly be randomly assigned to those who pre-registered and were able to temporarily reserve a booking slot to purchase LAND.
Those who are able to book LAND have a 10 minute window to complete the transaction.
Any LANDs that were not purchased during the 10 minute booking window are no longer reserved, and others may attempt to purchase them at The Sandbox website.
Yes. SAND is the currency of The Sandbox's platform. It is available both on the Polygon and Ethereum blockchains. You can bridge SAND between both networks on the website.
You will need SAND (Polygon network) for all transactions on The Sandbox website, such as buying LAND, avatars, Catalysts, and assets.
See Bridge LAND to Polygon on The Sandbox Bridge page.
The need to bridge may be avoided by purchasing SAND from a Polygon network exchange instead of an Ethereum network exchange. Make sure you bridge your SAND in advance, as the time it takes the bridging process to complete varies depending on blockchain congestion (though it usually may take around an hour, but this is not a guarantee).
See Benefits of Owning LAND for information about regular and Premium LANDs.
Users need to have a Sandbox account (with wallet linked) and meet the following requirements to be eligible to joining the LAND Sale:
Account must be verified (KYC)
Your account is not banned
Banned accounts: Users who are flagged for suspicious/fraudulent activity, such as bots detected on Season 2 and 3.
The date and time for LAND Sales will appear on the LAND Sale page: https://sandbox.game/landsale
Remember, the new LAND sale system is open to everyone and operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Users can purchase LAND as soon as the sale opens, until all available LAND in the neighborhood is sold, or the sale period ends, whichever comes first.
All upcoming LAND Sales will be hosted on https://sandbox.game/landsale.
We’ll announce upcoming LAND Sales over social media, on our home page and on the map. Users subscribed to The Sandbox will also receive email communications when a new LAND Sale is coming.
If you pre-registered for the LAND Sale but have issues paying for the LAND during the sale, it is most likely that you met the requirements to purchase when you registered, but made a purchase with your wallet since then and do not have the correct amount in your wallet to purchase the LAND and/or pay the gas fee.
Check your wallet balance to ensure you have enough SAND (Polygon) to purchase the LAND type you are able to purchase
No, only verified accounts can join the LAND Sale. Make sure you verify your account in time. You can start your verification process here: https://www.sandbox.game/me/settings/account-verification/
The KYC process (Know Your Customer) ensures that a real, physical person is behind the account. It proves that users are who they claim to be. Required by current regulations, identification prevents a person from carrying out activities in the name of another person, using false documents to commit fraud (e.g. money laundering, identity theft, etc.).
The process consists first in a liveness proof, where we verify you are alive and you are a real person applying for the account verification. Then we require you to upload a document ID where we verify your identity.
To start the verification process go to Account > Settings > Account Verification or access https://www.sandbox.game/me
Visit KYC 認証 for more information.
Most likely, no—you will only need to complete the account verification process once. However, some users may be required to reverify their accounts periodically due to updates in our terms and conditions or changes in country-specific laws and policies.
Account verification can take up to 48 hours. If the LAND sale ends before your account is verified, you will need to wait for the next LAND sale opportunity or purchase LAND from other users on The Sandbox Marketplace ( https://www.sandbox.game/en/nft-lands/ ).
You can also explore the map and find LAND for sale by looking for parcels marked with price tags. To do so, visit: https://www.sandbox.game/map/?lat=-10&lng=-1&zoom=0&mode=buyLand
Yes. LAND purchased on secondary markets, such as OpenSea or Rarible for example, will show in your inventory on The Sandbox website, as long as the LAND is in the same third-party wallet that you connected to your Sandbox account when you registered.

Currently no, but The Sandbox team would like to make it possible for LAND owners to rent to creators who need publishing space on the Map.
The LAND, Experience, and assets used in it must be in the same wallet.
You do not need LAND to create an Experience, or game, for free with our Game Maker software. You need LAND to publish it to the map. Create your Experience anytime.
You may also participate in our Builder's Launchpad program, which empowers builders who do not own LAND to get their content published. Visit The Sandbox Events page under the Creators tab for more information.
Making a private arrangment to rent LANDs and choosing the price are both at the discretion of the LAND owner.
Currently, to publish an Experience the LAND, Experience, and assets used in it must be located in the same wallet. If you make a private arrangement to locate these in the same wallet, you must consider the risk of the content being transferred or SOLD by whomever has access to the account where it is hosted. Private arrangements are done at your own discretion.
Transferring a LAND or NFT assets to another wallet requires signing into the wallet and approving a transaction. Transferring an Experience or transferring assets that are not minted as NFTs simply requires a username or email.
An Experience can only exist on one account (unless you duplicate it in Game Maker so multiple parties may have a copy).
Ownership of the Experience depends on your private arrangement, and that agreement must take into account that if an Experience is located in a wallet with a LAND, it may be published to that LAND and transferred to another account without signing a wallet transaction. The same applies to assets that are not minted as NFTs and are used in the Experience. They may be transferred to another account, minted as NFTs, and sold on the Marketplace. Make private arrangements carefully with these factors in mind.
Yes. It is an NFT you have the right to transfer or sell. You can visit The Sandbox Map, select your LAND, and click the button to list it. This will take you to OpenSea to set up sale conditions.
You may also sell it directly from a third-party NFT exchange like Rarible by opening your wallet, selecting the LAND NFT, and setting up sale conditions.
This is up to the LAND owner. The value of LAND depends on several factors, such as proximity to major partners, if any Assets included in the bundle, other LANDs included in a bundle, etc. Remember that LAND sellers will ideally need to perform some market research, remain competitive and charge a fair price in order to be attractive to potential buyers.
Transaction fees vary among third-party NFT exchanges, such as OpenSea or Rarible, who facilitate NFT sales. We cannot advise you on the exact cost of fees on third parties, which vary, so please consult the third-party for this information.

Despite being audited by independent security firms, a vulnerability was found in the Ethereum LAND Smart Contract, between December 2021 and January 2022.
The vulnerability was not exploited by malicious actors.
As a result of the discovery, a new smart contract was created and deployed. The address of this smart contract is 0x5CC5B05a8A13E3fBDB0BB9FcCd98D38e50F90c38
.
We also created and deployed a migration contract, allowing LAND Owners to effortlessly migrate their LAND from the old contract to the new one. The migration contract address is: 0x371f4c6fd305c6772Bc6224b795b0B46b6B6f8dB

This is up to the game designer.
Some games may be free to play (F2P)
Some may require a pass to play
Some may require an NFT from a collection (such as an avatar), a piece of equipment, etc. to be owned or equipped to have access to gameplay:
for progression in an Experience
for access to hidden quests, VIP areas, etc.
for perks such as power ups, a chance to influence the game world, and more
Players can potentially earn SAND through Play&Earn mechanisms on some F2P games (see Events and follow The Sandbox news to join in the fun when Seasons launch with similar rewards). This may be used to purchase NFTs required to unlock features in some Experiences or earn exclusive rewards for owners of those NFTs.
Creators who publish games to their LANDs may also offer contests and send rewards to the winners. Explore the Map on The Sandbox website to find UGC Experiences (user-generated content) and view Details, which takes you to the Experience Page where information about potential rewards for players may be noted.
You can not charge SAND to play an Experience directly, but you can sell NFTs as part of your own event or gameplay.
Equipment NFTs may grant access to exclusive gameplay mechanics or quests, or they may offer the player benefits that can be used in other Experiences where another builder allows them
Passes may grant access to VIP areas or limited access Experiences
You can also choose to allow players to visit your Experience for free. It's a good marketing strategy to provide at least one free game so that players can get a taste of your creativity and decide if they want to purchase NFTs to access your NFT-gated content.
Such mechanisms are not built into quests for UGC creators at this time, but have been developing in The Sandbox Alpha Seasons.
There is a cap set on all Experiences based on how the current version of our game engine performs to ensure quality gameplay as our ecosystem evolves and integrates new features. Our team has worked to reduce loading times and improve performance while adding powerful new features and quality of life improvements for creators with every release.
the asset is an NFT you've purchased, you may use it on one LAND per asset owned.
If you have created an asset in VoxEdit and uploaded it to your Workspace, you do not need to mint it as an NFT and can use it on as many LANDs as you want.
Currently, only one person can edit an Experience at a time, but an Experience can be edited over time by multiple creators with the same login credentials. This is how Game Jams and Studios collaborate with the current version of our Experience creation software.
Artists are also needed to create assets in VoxEdit and test their creations in Game Maker for quality before providing it to the builder. Assets can now be managed in Workspaces on The Sandbox website, and in the future creators will be able to use it as a collaboration tool for asset management.
If the amount of funds available isn't the problem, see our Marketplace FAQs about .
See to view your options to pay the gas fee for your purchase (you may be able to use a gasless transaction or pay with SAND instead of purchasing POL to pay the fee)
The Experience and assets used in it must be in the same wallet as the LAND in order to publish. If you choose to rent LAND from another party, you must make arrangements to meet this requirement in order to publish. This is at your own discretion. Please review for security information.

How much to charge for NFTs is up to you as the creator. includes recommendations for selling sets of NFTs with your Experience, called NFT drops. This can help you decide the amount of NFTs to mint. The prices of the NFTs must be fair and competitive based on the content and quality of the Experience and the assets being sold.
The most engaging and versatile method of monetisation in The Sandbox is integrating directly into your Experience's gameplay. This can be done with virtually any logic in your game, making it easy to integrate in unique ways tailored to your gameplay design needs. NFT Sensor can be a the gateway to progress further in an Experience, access exclusive content, gain special perks during play, and more.
Currently, the cap on multiplayer Experiences is 20. However, the creator may set limits via which could result in less than 20 players. Multiple spawn points can be created with caps and teams can be assigned by spawn point. Experiences may also be singleplayer
