What Are Game Jams?
The Sandbox Game Jams are Creator Contests open to anyone who is passionate about creating games! We invite you to enter a vibrant ecosystem where gaming meets culture, and creators come together to build the future of the platform and make their dreams come true. Only your imagination sets the limits. Let’s build the metaverse together! To participate, you must use our no-code Game Maker software to create your game. Anyone can enter the contest whether you are an aspiring or experienced game designer, so fret not if you are entirely new to The Sandbox or the Game Maker! Push the limits of your skills and the Game Maker, and build up your excellent portfolio of games that you can use to establish and market yourself as a Game Designer in The Sandbox.

Fun! Game Jams are a lot of fun. You get to push your imagination and creative thinking by creating games with diverse required themes. It's an incredibly satisfying feeling to reach the finish line with a new amazing game that YOU have put all your hard work into.
Prizes
In our global Game Jams, you stand a chance at a share of a prize pool of up to 100,000 SAND. SAND is The Sandbox’s native token, which can be used to purchase various items in our ecosystem such as Assets and LAND.
The top 10 winners and up to 10 Honorable Mentions win a 1x1 LAND each where they are expected to publish their experience on the Map. Additionally, the top 10 experiences win a CATALYST Pack each. CATALYSTs are used to mint ASSETs which can be sold on the Marketplace in exchange for SAND.
Game Jams coordinated in collaboration with IPs may also select experiences for a special SAND prize.
Results
The final results are first announced on the Game Jam Awards Live Stream on Twitch. Join the fun and celebrations of the talented creators, and visit our livestreams often to learn about creating great games and assets!
How to Participate
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Join our Creator Forum to stay updated on Game Jams. You can also visit the Events page on The Sandbox website to see active and past Game Jam events.
Anyone can participate in Game Jams. All you need is the Game Maker software, an idea, and a can-do attitude. You also need an account in The Sandbox, of course. Regardless of your experience level, we recommend that you carefully read the rules, guidelines, best practices, and other Game Jam pages here to make sure that you are prepared and know what to do. These can sometimes change, so make sure you stay up-to-date. Important changes are also announced in The Sandbox Creators Forum and the Medium articles related to specific Game Jams. We highly recommend that you join our Creators Forum, as this is your most efficient way to stay updated on what is currently going on in the world of Game Jams, including the latest schedule and reward distribution status.
You are welcome at any time to ask questions in the Creators Forum or Discord where you can get assistance from staff and other creators who are always happy to help.
Participating in Game Jams will require you to register in advance. The registration form will be available in the Event Page and the Medium article. This is also where you find all other information you need for each individual Game Jam
